So now that we've won and it's all over, who's up for tea and medals? I know I am, and you're all welcome to come up to Darlington on Sunday for a tea to celebrate our victory. Mr Rabbit will be there, of course, and we can all go skinny-dipping in the fountain afterwards and admire each other's spiffing battle scars.

[ WARDED TO SUSAN BONES. ]
So now that everything is over -- I mean, really over, not like last time where they said it was and there we were on Monday seven months later -- what do we do now? I remember how back in June, I kept thinking about how dull life without the war was and how I missed camping and having exciting run-ins with Snatchers where I was actually doing something rather than being a poor put-upon Muggle-born. And then when Megan was kidnapped, I was thrilled the DA was back in action. Except after everyone kept dying, I felt wrong feeling that way about fighting, and now it's no longer our duty. It feels odd, and I'm not sure certain if I should be relieved or not. Of course I'm pleased the Death Eaters are all dead or in prison, but, I don't know, you know what I mean, yes?

Also, how are you doing? I saw you told Ginny you will be fine. And I'm all right myself -- some ugly, frisky old hag tried to eat me and a vampire punched me in the face, so that brings my recent battle history up to a hag, vampire, homosexual werewolf, and an Amazon Death Eater who reminded me of Mother. If I told my parents about that, they would think I was pissed off my arse again, but they still don't know anything about Monday yet.

Oh, and before I forget -- did you know that Hannah apparently killed someone? I mean, it's Hannah -- this is awful of me, but my first thought was that she stuffed a holy water fairy cake with garlic frosting in the vampire's mouth. I must admit that I am quite surprised.

Smithy! I saw that you said you were 'okay' in Hannah's entry, but I haven't seen you since we trounced that beastly hideous hag on Monday and wanted to know how you're really doing -- just between the two of us as men where you don't have to be strong for the women.

Anyway, I'm perfectly all right -- I didn't even have to go to St Mungo's, though it's so odd to be the one who isn't there this time when I usually am due to my own idiocy and carelessness. And I even caught a vampire when we were at the Death Eater's house! I didn't do a very good job of trying to outwit her when she was pretending to be a lost Ministry worker -- I tried to think about what you would have done, as everyone hates you for being so skeptical -- but it all worked out in the end. Did you get to arrest anyone then yourself?

And we absolutely must have a celebratory drink over our splendid hag capture at the very least -- if you're up for it, of course. If you're well, when are you free this week?

Now, I know this silly habit of writing entire entries of nothing but book excerpts is something swotty and insecure Ravenclaws do, but please hear me out this time! If you're reading this, I thought I'd share something that may help inspire all of us to do our duty this afternoon with the stoicism that is expected of us as good Englishmen and woman. I'm certain all of you must know it already as it is a national classic -- shame on you if you don't! -- but it's always been my favourite poem every since Father read it to me as a little boy, even though I'm usually a philistine who doesn't like that sort of rubbish. And we should all aspire to what it teaches.

Poem. )

Say what you will about the man, but isn't that lovely? Anyway, Godspeed and good luck to all of you if I don't see you before the party begins today. And we ought to celebrate afterwards once we win and lock up all of the Death Eaters for good this time.
